The event started with the challenge from Willie Gartner coming back from a church retreat.  The challenge was to think out of the box on ways that we could impact the quality of life for people. The planning committee is a group of individuals with a common interest to raise money for different charities.  The Wild Game Feed is sponsored by Holy Cross Catholic Church. 

The original project sponsored was a fresh water well for people in Senda, Uganda.   To date, we have raised over $50,000 for local and international charities. Charities include; Holy Cross Uganda Water Project, Friends of Chimbote, Project Genesis, Alpha Christian Children’s Orphanage, St. Gianna’s Maternity Home, Down Home, Home on the Range and Women’s Care Center.
 

The event is family friendly for all members of the family.  The event is on a Thursday night from 5:30 to 8:30 pm with a nice meal, games of chance and fellowship.  There is a range of prizes for all ages and interest in the outdoors. 

The meal is made possible with donations of wild game.  The meal includes several appetizers, soups, entrees, beverages and desert.  The dishes are designed to enhance the flavor of wild game.  A variety of wild game is featured every year from well-known venison or elk  to lesser known beaver or raccoon.  The dishes are prepared by well-known church chefs; Jeff Pegg, Brian Kingsley and Ron Knaust.  The chefs have established a reputation for preparing quality dishes well-liked by everyone.  A domestic entrée is always served for those not desiring wild game.  There is always plenty of food.
